The initial consultation, which ended on Thursday May 27, has confirmed an appetite for a third-party price assessment for a Japan import price for ferro-silicon, but the extension will allow time to review the market feedback on the specifications proposed in the initial consultation.
The specifications for the price assessment are proposed as follows:
Assessment: Ferro-silicon 75% Si min, cif Japan, $/tonne Quality: Lump. Si 75-80%; Al 2% max; P 0.05% max; S 0.02% max; C 0.2% max; size: 10-50mm Quantity: 100 tonnes Location: cif Japan Unit: $ per tonne Payment terms: Cash or letter of credit Publication: Weekly. Wednesday 2-3pm London time
The extended consultation period for this proposed launch starts on June 4 and will now end on June 10. The launch will then take place, subject to market feedback, on June 16.
