TURKEY LONG STEEL: Turkish domestic rebar prices up, wire rod stable

Turkish domestic rebar prices have increased slightly in line with the rising costs for scrap and billet, sources said on Thursday November 30.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment for domestic rebar in Turkey was $540-550 per tonne ex-works, up from the $535-545 per tonne of last week.

The domestic rebar price in the Izmir and Iskenderun regions was $545-550 per tonne ex-works, while the Karabük region price was $550-560 per tonne ex-works.

In the Istanbul region, prices were ranging between $540 per tonne and 570 per tonne ex-works.

The major mill in the Marmara region, Içdas, was offering rebar at $541-546 per tonne ex-works, and was offering wire rod at $575-589 per tonne.

Meanwhile, wire rod prices in the country’s domestic market have remained stable from last week.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment for domestic wire rod was $570-580 per tonne ex-works on Thursday, unchanged week-on-week.
