Having worked extensively in both underground & large opencast mines of CIL, he has gained rich experience in Mine Planning, Mine Development, Operations & Mine Management. He has acquired excellent international exposure while undertaking technical due-diligence in many coal mining countries especially in Australia where he was involved in advanced Coal Exploration & Mine Development in Queensland. He is currently working in Jindal Steel & Power Ltd as Executive Vice President/Head BU-Coal. Apart from above, he currently holds various prestigious positions like Vice Chairman of FIMI’s Standing Committee on Coal, Co-Chairman in ASSOCHAM in its ‘Coal & Carbon Credit’ wing, Member of Inter-ministerial committee of Ministry of Coal for ‘Mission Coking Coal’, Member of Raw Material Division under Indian Steel Association and Executive Member of Coal Consumers Association of India. He has written number of Technical Papers on Coal Mining and actively participated in various Conferences & Seminars on Coal.

Alexis Ellender is Lead Major Dry Bulks Analyst at Kpler, the foremost provider of data and analytics in commodity markets. Based in London, he has over nine years’ experience in dry bulk commodity and dry freight research. Alexis joined the Insight Team at Kpler in March 2023 where he is leading the development and expansion of the company’s dry bulks research offering. This includes analysis of coal, iron ore, grain, and dry bulk shipping markets, supporting the development of Kpler’s dry bulks data offering, and authoring publications such as the Thermal & Met Coal Monthly report. Before joining Kpler, Alexis was a Director at Simpson Spence Young (SSY), one of the world’s largest shipbroking organisations where he worked for nine years as part of the SSY Consultancy & Research team. In addition to analysing major cargo flows and fleet developments his work included presenting to SSY’s clients, speaking at industry events, writing for company publications, and supporting broking staff. Alexis graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA in Geography and a MSc in Industry Trade and Development.

Rodney Holt was born in Australia. When he was a year old, his family moved to Italy where he grew up. He studied hotel management in 1981 in Cortina D’Ampezzo and then, from 1984 to 1987, at Sydney and UNE universities in Australia. Working as a chef and businessman, he has been living in Bali and Southeast Asia since 1992. Rodney became interested in sports very early on, playing football on the street after school and learning how to ski by the time he was nine. Rodney has represented three countries internationally in five different sports including World Cup, he was the first player from Bali Rugby to play for the Indonesian rugby team in 2007 and won Bali Sports Personality of the Year in 2007. Before founding Bali Sports Foundation, Rodney co-founded Bali Rugby Union, initiated various sporting events, such as HOTAIR! Kite surfing, the Sanur Village Sports Festival and more recently Bali Ocean Swim, Bali Stickfighting Challenge and the Bali Beach Games. As Founder and CEO of Yayasan Damai Olah Raga Bali, the Bali Sports Foundation now rebranded as BSF Asia, he promotes the development of disabled youth through sports throughout SE Asia. Born on 8th January, 1966 in a small town in India. Did my graduation there and moved for my higher studies to another city and I did my Chartered Accountancy in 1988. Initially I planned to go for practicing and spent 1.5 years in practicing Chartered Accountancy but really did not enjoy, and decided to move on to commercial job. I started my career with Aditya Birla group at Jayshree Insulator in end 1990 as Commercial Officer and was responsible for MIS, Accounts and Banking. This was one of the big Insulator plant in India. I moved to Trading at end of 1992 and started career as commercial officer, initially responsible for managing accounts, develop banking relationship and develop new trade commodities. We started our operations from a scratch level in Dubai since early 1993 and still continuing with the same company. During this journey, the responsibility keeps changing and I keep on going up in the ladder. Initially started manual accounts work, then developed banking limits and took front role in negotiation with Banks and setting up the whole limits. Was instrumental in document negotiations, LCs etc. Therefore, moved in exploring new products in Trading business. Meantime, was also taking care of shipping activity and charter party negotiations and vessel fixing, handling operation work as well. During 1994-95 we added coal as well as petroleum products in our Trading kitty. During 1994-95 the company overall turnover was not even 50 million dollars, however, we have grown substantially and last year we closed our books with turnover of 5.5 billion USD. Currently, I am looking after major products in the company such as, coal and petroleum products. Apart from handling these products, I am also taking care of certain branch offices such as, USA, Indonesia, China, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Strategy function also report to me. Working on specific projects for future development of company whether it is related to organization restructuring, starting new initiatives, new geography, working with HR to hire suitable candidates etc. working very closely with MD & CEO office to take part in all top management meetings. Almost 70% topline and bottom line comes from the product handled by me. Completed 32 years journey with the Company.
