Carsten Obermann specialized in the field of lithium-ion batteries and could gather experience along the whole battery value chain in various positions since 2017. Having worked at automotive OEMs, battery cell manufacturers and on battery recycling, he is currently driving Gotion’s ambitious strategic expansion plans outside of China. For the European market, he especially focuses on establishing Gotion’s manufacturing and recycling footprint. He holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration from RWTH Aachen and studied MBA programs at Yonsei University in Korea and at NTUST in Taiwan.

Dr. Gangfeng Liu is an expert in waste power battery recycling and recycling, catalyst precious metal recovery, spodumene lithium extraction, solid waste treatment and resource recycling research, including metallurgical tailings treatment and comprehensive utilization, recovery of precious metals and rare earths, XRT and XRF sorting, and basic research on electrical crushing. He participated in research of new and efficient dry coal preparation technology with the Ministry of Science and Technology focused on large-scale direct liquefaction of coal. He has led large R&D teams focused on recycling precious metals, waste batteries, lithium slag, and preparation of high-quality lithium materials, with multi-million-dollar technology development funds. He has published multiple papers in international conferences and journals and won multiple provincial and municipal awards.

Daniel has an extensive experience in the Lithium and Iodine markets, ranging from commercial to exploration. He worked 28 years at SQM, the world´s largest iodine and, until recently, lithium producer, holding the global commercial responsibility for the business for more than 10 years and prior to that 10 years of regional responsibilities in Europe and Asia. Having been deployed in the USA and Europe, and with intensive travel through Asia, he has a deep understanding of the markets of both businesses. Over 8 years, Daniel also headed SQM´s Exploration Group with focus on iodine, lithium, nitrates, copper and gold. He has been board member of several of SQM´s subsidiaries, private and publicly traded. Currently Daniel heads iLiMarkets, a Lithium and Iodine focused consulting firm. He is a board member at Galan Lithium (GLN.ASX). He is a qualified Civil Engineer and MBA.
