Correction to steel hot-rolled coil index domestic, exw Northern Europe and inferred prices: pricing notice

Fastmarkets has corrected its price and rationale for MB-STE-0028 steel hot-rolled coil index domestic, exw Northern Europe and the assessments for MB-STE-0905 green steel base price HRC exw Northern Europe, daily inferred and MB-STE-0912 flat steel reduced carbon emissions, daily inferred, exw Northern Europe, which were published incorrectly on Wednesday April 1.

Two price points were missing from the rationale for MB-STE-0028 steel hot-rolled coil index domestic, exw Northern Europe, €/tonne on April 1.

A buyer source reported and offer at €720 per tonne EXW on April 1. The same buyer reported an offer at €750 per tonne EXW on the same day, but this offer was zero-tonnage because of lack of confirmed buying interest for such levels.

The published price was affected by this change.

The price was incorrectly published at €711.50 per tonne due to a reporter error. The correct assessment should be €713.08 per tonne.
Additionally, as a result of an error, two daily inferred prices were also published incorrectly:

MB-STE-0905 green steel base price, HRC exw Northern Europe, daily inferred was incorrectly published at €811.5-881.5 per tonne. Correct price is €813.08- 883.08 per tonne.

MB-STE-0912 flat steel reduced carbon emissions, daily inferred, exw Northern Europewas published incorrectly at €711.5-761.5 per tonne. Correct price is €713.08 – 763.08 per tonne.

Fastmarkets’ pricing database has been updated to reflect this change.

These prices are part of the Fastmarkets steel package.
