Fastmarkets extends consultation period for CJK lithium methodology proposal

Fastmarkets is extending the consultation period on proposed changes to its global suite of battery-grade lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate price assessments by two weeks, to close on Friday May 29.

Fastmarkets is proposing to change quality and tonnage specifications in its global suite of battery-grade lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate price assessments.

These will include the benchmark assessments of the MB-LI-0033 lithium hydroxide monohydrate, LiOH.H2O 56.5% LiOH min, battery grade, spot price, cif China, Japan & Korea, and the MB-LI-0029 lithium carbonate, 99.5% Li2CO3 min, battery grade, spot prices, cif China, Japan & Korea. The changes would take effect from Monday August 3, 2026.

Fastmarkets is also proposing to clarify the shelf life, payment terms and timing for assessments within this suite of prices.

The consultation period for the proposed methodology changes to the prices was due to close on May 15 and will now end on May 29, in order to allow market participants more time to submit their feedback.

These prices are part of Fastmarkets’ industrial minerals package.
