Final decision on open consultation on methodology review for softwood wood products

Fastmarkets invited feedback from the industry on its pricing methodologies and product specifications for softwood wood products from March 31 through April 27 via an open consultation process. This consultation was done as part of our published annual methodology review process.

No feedback was received during the consultation period, and Fastmarkets will make no immediate changes to its methodologies as part of the methodology review process. However, forthcoming pricing notices on specific changes to assessment specifications, including potential new price launches, will provide additional opportunities for feedback.

The consultation sought to ensure that our methodologies continue to reflect the physical market under indexation, in compliance with the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) principles for Price Reporting Agencies (PRAs). This includes all elements of our pricing process, our price specifications and publication frequency.
