Mexico’s heavy-duty trucks sales up 45% in October

Sales of heavy-duty trucks increased by 45.4% year-on-year in Mexico in October, according to the national association of automotive distributors, Amda.

October sales totalled 4,240 units, up from 2,916 vehicles sold in the same month in 2011, Amda said.

Sales of tractors increased by 112.7% and of trucks by 37.4%, while vehicle passenger sales fell by 10.6%, Amda noted.

In January-October, truck sales increased by 18.7%, reaching 30,472 units.
