Proposal to amend price presentation and clarification of names for 12 paper and board assessments in East China: pricing notice

These price assessments were previously based on underlying data from UM Paper-branded prices, which were discontinued in October 2025. Since then, the prices have been independently assessed by Fastmarkets’ price reporting team. Presenting them as a range, rather than a single number, will better reflect market developments.

The proposed amendment will not affect historical prices.

The affected prices are:

• FP-CBB-0026 Cartonboard/boxboard, ivory board, coated (premium) 250 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-CBB-0028 Cartonboard/boxboard, ivory board, coated (commodity) 250 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-CBB-0027 Cartonboard/boxboard, coated duplex, grayback board (premium) 250 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-CBB-0029 Cartonboard/boxboard, coated duplex, grayback board (commodity) 250 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-CTB-0094 Containerboard, kraft-top liner, 170 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-CTB-0095 Containerboard, testliner, 140 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-CTB-0096 Containerboard, high-strength corrugating medium, 120 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-CTB-0097 Containerboard, white-top testliner, 140 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-GP-0166 Graphic paper, uncoated woodfree/freesheet, reels (100% chemical pulp) 70-100 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-GP-0168 Graphic paper, uncoated woodfree/freesheet, reels (mixed chemical/mechanical pulp) 70-100 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-GP-0167 Graphic paper, coated woodfree/freesheet, reels (premium) 128-157 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne
• FP-GP-0170 Graphic paper, coated woodfree/freesheet, reels (commodity) 128-157 g, delivered China, yuan per tonne

Fastmarkets is also proposing to clarify the names of these assessments. As part of the process of standardizing price nomenclature for forest products, their names will be as follows:

The name clarification for FP-CTB-0094, FP-CTB-0095, FP-CTB-0096 and FP-CTB-0097 were previously communicated in a separate pricing notice published on May 15, 2026. To avoid duplication, these changes are not listed again here.

The consultation period for the standardized names and the proposed change to price presentation starts on Friday June 19 and will end on Monday July 20. The amendment will then take place, subject to market feedback, on Friday July 31.
