The eight assessments cover the US for tissue jumbo rolls made from wood pulp and recycled pulp for both retail and away-from-home markets.
The new prices will replace the price estimates currently published in Fastmarkets’ US Tissue Monthly Data report and will be a part of the Fastmarkets tissue package.
The US is the second largest global producer and consumer of tissue products, after only China. Fastmarkets preliminary data for 2025 shows that the US accounts for 20% (9.6 million tonnes) of global tissue demand and for 18% (8.5 million tonnes) of global tissue production. The North American tissue market, with per-capita consumption of 26.8 kg in 2023, is the most advanced in the world and is still growing.
The proposed price specifications are as follows:
Location: United States.
Incoterm: FOB mill.
Quantity: Minimum 15 short tons.
Unit & Currency: US dollar per short ton.
Specification: Prices are for tonnage considering regular reels with one (1) ply, a width between 101 inches and 102 inches (approximately 2.6 m), a diameter between 1.4 m and 2.5 m and a core between 10 and 12 inches.
Timing: Orders taken in the month to date for shipment in the current month or the following month.
Payment terms: Assume normal and customary payment terms, excluding taxes.
Price Type: Net. Includes open-market transactions in continuing supply relationships. Excludes transactions between affiliates and transactions indexed to a published price.
Assessment Type: Range price assessment.
Frequency: Monthly, usually in the second week of the month.
Notes: Furnish 100% wood, conventional quality, usually produced with dry crepe tissue (DCT) technology.
Notes: Furnish 100% wood, premium quality, usually produced with hybrid/structured technologies.
Notes: Furnish 100% wood, ultra-premium quality, usually produced with through‑air‑dried (TAD) technology.
Notes: Furnish 100% recycled pulp, economic quality.
Price Type: Net. Includes open-market transactions in ongoing continuing supply relationships. Excludes transactions between affiliates and transactions indexed to a published price.
The consultation period for these price assessments begins on Friday May 8 and will run until Friday June 5. The launch will take place, subject to market feedback, on June 12, 2026.
