Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange are treading water this morning, Tuesday May 23, with prices down an average of 0.2%.

The base metals are on divergent paths this morning, Friday May 19, with three-month London Metal Exchange lead prices up 0.4%, copper prices up 0.3% at $5,597 per tonne, while nickel prices are down 1% at $9,085 per tonne and the rest are little changed.

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange are for the most part firmer this morning, Monday May 15.

Most global billet prices edged down last week, amid lower scrap prices and weaker market activity due to the month-long Ramadan religious observation in Islamic countries.

Volume has been high at 12,379 lots as of 07:15 BST – this may be due to it being option declaration this morning.

Base metals traded on the London Metal Exchange are on divergent paths this morning, Friday September 15, with losses in aluminium (-0.6%), nickel (-0.5%) and copper (-0.1%) at $6,496 per tonne, while zinc is up 0.3% and lead and tin are little changed.

A quiet but positive start to trading on the London Metal Exchange this morning, Thursday June 22, with base metals prices up across the board with average gains of 0.2%.

Flat steel prices in Turkey continued to fall in May, on moderate demand, and market participants expect June to be just as slow, as the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, and Eid will take place during the month.

Most of the base metals prices are weaker this morning, Wednesday May 31, the exception is three-month copper prices on the London Metal Exchange that are up 0.3% at $5,677 per tonne. The other LME metals are down an average of 0.6%, although that is skewed by a 2.4% decline in nickel prices to $8,890 per tonne.

Base metals prices are for the most part firmer this morning, Wednesday January 18, with prices up an average of 0.4%.
