Base metals on the London Metal Exchange are slightly firmer this morning, Tuesday June 6, with prices up an average of 0.2%.

Base metals traded on the London Metal Exchange are mainly weaker this morning, Wednesday February 28, with prices off by an average of 0.4%.

The fledgling rebounds in the base metals seen in the second half of August have stalled and in the case of nickel have been reversed with prices setting fresh lows this morning, Monday September 3.

Base metals prices have managed to generally build on the gains from Thursday with three-month London Metal Exchange prices up an average of 0.4%, this morning, Friday April 21.

Bounces have been seen across the base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange this morning, Wednesday April 19, with prices up an average of 0.6% as of 06:30 BST.

Volatility has picked up in the base metals trading on the London Metals Exchange in recent days, with prices down an average of 0.4% this morning, Thursday March 23. This is after prices rebounded on Wednesday afternoon following a bout of weakness that started on Monday.

The upward trend in steel billet market prices resumed last week in most global markets, despite signs of a slowdown in the Chinese steel market, sources told Metal Bulletin.

India’s imported scrap markets have been supported by healthy demand for finished steel in the country this week, which prevented there being steeper losses in the scrap price, sources have told Metal Bulletin.
