Amendment to China coated ivory board assessment

After a 30-day consultation period, Fastmarkets has amended the price assessment for FP-CBB-0028 coated ivory board (commodity), 250 g, delivered East China, CNY/tonne, with effect from November 1 2024.

With Fastmarkets’ sister company UM Paper set to discontinue the price assessment for the coated ivory board product produced by Shandong Bohui Paper Industry in response to the changes in the Chinese market, we proposed to exclude it from the calculation of the price for the product. The exclusion may affect the price assessment in the first month, but it will make the assessment an improved reflection of the dynamic boxboard market in China going forward.

The specifications of the affected price are as follows:

FP-CBB-0028 Coated ivory board (commodity), 250 g, delivered East China

Quantity: 200 tonnes

Location: East China (including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Guangdong)

Timing: Orders taken in the month to date for shipment in the current month or the following month.

Unit: CNY/Tonne

Payment terms: Assume normal and customary payment terms. Tax included

Publication: Monthly, in the last week of the month or first week of the following month, 2pm Singapore time

Notes: Domestic grades. Prices reflect sales of the most common brands and do not reflect prices of lower-quality, smaller-volume brands.

This price is part of the Fastmarkets Asia – Packaging Paper and Board package.

The consultation period for this proposed amendment started from September 13, 2024, and ended on October 14, 2024. No negative feedback was received. The amendment will take place on November 1, 2024, as scheduled.
