Decision to suspend the launch of inferred net prices to complement PIX Pulp Europe gross indices

Fastmarkets has decided not to proceed with the proposed launch of inferred net prices for the PIX Pulp NBSK and PIX Pulp BHKP indices in Europe at this time.

Fastmarkets has decided not to proceed with the proposed launch of inferred net prices for the PIX Pulp NBSK and PIX Pulp BHKP indices in Europe at this time.

After assessing market feedback, Fastmarkets has determined that current circumstances do not make the launch of inferred net prices viable.

Throughout this process, Fastmarkets has continued to hear concerns about the widening gap between net and gross prices and is therefore evaluating market interest in adjusting the existing gross prices to more reasonable levels above net prices. IMPORTANT: Any such initiative would only be carried out in close consultation with industry stakeholders and with significant advance notice.

Fastmarkets is also investigating the potential to relaunch spot price assessments for NBSK and BEK in Europe.

We would welcome feedback on both subjects.

In today's market, effective food and beverage procurement is critical for profitability.
