James McKeigue

James is the Europe base metals editor, leading a team of reporters that cover copper, aluminium, nickel, zinc, lead and tin. He has a particular emphasis on how these metals will enable the energy transition. His career as an investment journalist began in 2008, covering the European equity markets for Forbes. That was followed by two years spent in Asia, Africa and Latin America writing about commodities for US B2B magazines, such as Oil & Gas Investor and Engineering & Mining Journal. He returned to London in 2010 to write for MoneyWeek, before founding LatAm INVESTOR - the UK's only Latin America-focused investment magazine in 2013. During more than ten years as editor, he interviewed presidents, CEOs and central bank governors. Because Latin America is a major commodity exporter, there was a constant focus on metals and mining. His time at LatAm INVESTOR involved visiting mines, taking part in the region's largest mining conferences and moderating debates between government officials and industry insiders.
