Shyamal Patel

Shyamal is the head of modelling for carbon at Fastmarkets, bringing over 8 years of experience in sustainability analytics, product development and consulting. He leads the model development process at Fastmarkets across compliance carbon markets, voluntary carbon markets and related sustainability topics. He works closely with Fastmarkets customers to understand their carbon analytical requirements.

Before joining Fastmarkets, Shyamal was chief product officer and co-founder at Planetrics (now part of McKinsey), where he led climate risk and net-zero finance model development. Prior to this, he worked on topics such as green economic growth, net-zero transitions and regulatory economics within the UK water sector at Vivid Economics.

Shyamal holds an MSc in econometrics and mathematical economics and a BSc in mathematics and economics, both from the London School of Economics
