Clarification of methodology for FOB China fluorspar prices: pricing notice

Fastmarkets wishes to clarify details around the following aspects of the pricing methodology for FOB China fluorspar.

Fastmarkets would like to clarify details surrounding the following price assessments: MB-FLU-0003 Fluorspar, acidspar, 97% CaF₂, wet filtercake, FOB China, $/tonne; MB-FLU-0015 Fluorspar, metspar, minimum 85% CaF₂, FOB China, $/tonne; and MB-FLU-0016 Fluorspar, metspar, minimum 90% CaF₂, FOB China, $/tonne.

The prices are assessed based on price data gathered on an FOB China basis, including deals, bids, offers and indications.

Although our methodology states that Fastmarkets may consider relative values of the same commodity in different regions during times of low liquidity, we currently do not use FCA Mongolia price data to help assess FOB China prices, due to the availability of FOB China data that is considered of higher confidence in Fastmarkets’ data hierarchy.

China-origin capital plants flags in Paraguay as Brazil’s steel doors close
