Correction to rationale of manganese ore semi carbonate index, 36.5% Mn, fob Port Elizabeth

Fastmarkets has corrected the rationale for its MB-MNO-0002 manganese ore semi carbonate index, 36.5% Mn, fob Port Elizabeth, which was published incorrectly on Friday June 5 due to incorrect source data.

The rationale for MB-MNO-0002 manganese ore semi carbonate index, 36.5% Mn, fob Port Elizabeth erroneously said that “The average freight rate this week was $32.10 per tonne, which translated into $0.89 per dmtu. This was subtracted from the cif price of $4.75 per dmtu.” This has been corrected to “The average freight rate this week was $32.10 per tonne, which translated into $0.88 per dmtu. This was subtracted from the cif price of $4.74 per dmtu.”

The final line of the rationale was also corrected from “The fob index fell during the week due to a lower average freight rate, while cif prices were stable.” to “The fob index rose during the week due to lower average freight rate, which offset a slight decrease in cif prices.”

The published price is unaffected by this change.

This price is part of the Fastmarkets ores and alloys package.
