Fastmarkets changes manganese ore public holiday publishing timings

Fastmarkets has changed its publishing timings for its manganese ore indices when the date falls on a public holiday in the publishing region in order to report on market movements in a more timely fashion.

Specifically, these indices will be published on the preceding working day if the scheduled publishing day falls on a public holiday.

This change is intended to ensure that price assessments are made available to market participants as close as possible to the underlying trading activity and data collection period, particularly where public holidays would otherwise delay publication by several working days. Additionally, this approach also aligns manganese ore indices with the broader Fastmarkets practice applied across comparable weekly assessments.

Please note, manganese ore indices are published as per the Fastmarkets public pricing holiday calendar, which includes public holidays and specifies how prices are published around holidays.

Please refer to the Ferrous 2026 Pricing Holidays tab for a complete list of holidays and their replacement dates.

Fastmarkets notes that this publishing convention was implemented and reflected in the pricing holiday calendar published in January, ahead of the April public holiday period.

Fastmarkets continually reviews its methodologies and publishing processes to ensure they reflect market practice and provide timely, consistent price information to subscribers.
