Fastmarkets changes the timing of its ilmenite cif China and rutile fob Australia assessments

Fastmarkets has moved the frequency of the price assessments of MB-ILM-0004 Ilmenite concentrate, 47-49% TiO2, cif China, $/tonne, MB-RUT-0002 Rutile 95% TiO2 min, bagged, fob Australia, $/tonne and MB-RUT-0001 Rutile 95% TiO2 min, large volumes for pigment, fob Australia, $/tonne to monthly from fortnightly, effective March 5.

This is being done in response to market feedback reporting slow movement in the price and low liquidity over the long term.

The move to monthly pricing for these assessments also brings them in line with Fastmarkets assessment of zircon.

This decision was first proposed in a note published January 28, which you can view here.

Please send any questions or comments by March 5 to pricing@fastmarkets.com and industrialminerals@fastmarkets.com. Please indicate if comments are confidential. Fastmarkets will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
