GLOBAL LITHIUM SNAPSHOT: Europe, US technical-grade prices halt declines, battery-grade flat

Europe and United States’ lithium battery-grade spot prices held steady over the week to Thursday October 8, with the market in wait-and-see mode, while the technical-grade hydroxide price rose for the first time in a year.

  • Europe and US battery-grade spot prices held steady for the third consecutive week after posting losses in mid-September.
  • Sources reported strengthening prices for technical-grade compounds in Europe and the United States amid tighter availability in warehouses and soaring shipping costs.
  • The lithium hydroxide monohydrate 56.5% LiOH.H2O min, technical and industrial grades, spot price ddp Europe and US rose for the first time in a year, increasing to $7-8.20 per kg on Thursday, from $7-8 per kg over the previous week.
  • Domestic Chinese lithium prices and seaborne Asia prices have been rolled over due to a public holiday in China and in line with Fastmarkets’ methodology.
