Launch of electrical steel, cold-rolled grain oriented, CFR India price assessment: pricing notice

Fastmarkets launched a price assessment for electrical steel, cold-rolled grain oriented, CFR India on Friday October 3, 2025.

India is a major consumer of cold-rolled grain oriented (CRGO) electrical steel and largely depends on imports. It produces 40,000 tonnes of CRGO electrical steel per year and imports close to 400,000 tonnes a year.

This price launch expands the coverage of electrical steel and complements existing Fastmarkets’ electrical steel product offerings.

The specifications are as follows:

MB-STE-0941 Electrical steel, cold-rolled grain oriented, cfr India, $/tonne
Quality: 23 HP85d (900-1000 mm) as per IS 3024
Quantity: Minimum 10 tonnes
Location: CFR Indian ports
Timing: Spot
Unit: USD/tonne
Publication: Fortnightly, Friday 4-6pm Shanghai time
