Proposal to amend European steel plate price assessments

Fastmarkets proposes to amend the publication day for its European steel domestic plate and import plate assessments from Wednesday to Thursday, to better align with related markets.

The proposed new specifications for the four prices are listed below, with the suggested amendments in italics:

MB-STE-0034 Steel domestic plate 8-40mm, exw Northern Europe, €/tonne
Quality: S235JR, width 2,500mm, length 12,000mm, thickness 8-40mm (excluding extras for dimensions)
Quantity: 100-5,000 tonnes
Location: ex-works Northern Europe
Timing: Up to 6 weeks
Unit: €/tonne
Publication: Weekly. Thursday, 2-3pm London time

MB-STE-0035 Steel domestic plate 8-40mm, exw Southern Europe, €/tonne

Quality: S235JR, width 2,500mm, length 12,000mm, thickness 8-40mm (excluding extras for dimensions)
Quantity: 100-5,000 tonnes
Location: ex-works Southern Europe
Timing: Up to 6 weeks
Unit: €/tonne
Publication: Weekly. Thursday, 2-3pm London time

MB-STE-0049 Steel plate (8-40mm) import, cfr main port Northern Europe, €/tonne
Quality: S235JR, width 2,500mm, length 12,000mm, thickness 8-40mm
Quantity: 1,000-5,000 tonnes

These prices are a part of the Fastmarkets Steel Price Package.

The consultation period for this proposed amendment starts from Tuesday May 6 and will end on Monday June 3. The amendment will then take place, subject to market feedback, on Thursday June 5.
