It is understood that SA Recycling has formally closed on the purchase of Atlanta-based Metro Alloys, although the buyer declined to comment when approached by Fastmarkets.
The precise date of the deal’s closure and the value of the transaction were not known at the time of publication.
This follows Orange, California-based SA Recycling’s purchase of shredder Pirkle Inc, also in Atlanta, on September 28.
The company snapped up three recycling assets in the US South in August – two in Kentucky and one in Tennessee – as part of its ongoing bid to increase its East Coast market share. SA Recycling currently operates in the southern US states of Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi and Florida.
