Ultra Decor Rus to build new decorative base paper plant in Russia’s Kaluga region

Ultra Decor Rus, a Russian producer of base paper for decorative printing, will build a new plant to manufacture base paper in the Kaluga region’s special economic zone in Lyudinovo, a representative of the Kaluga Regional Development Agency told Fastmarkets RISI. The plant is expected to become operational in Q1 2022.

The facility will have a production capacity of 40,000 tonnes/yr. The total investment is estimated at some Rouble 4.2 billion ($55.0 million) and approximately 65 new jobs will be created.

Ultra Decor Rus is part of the Austria-based Kronospan Holding, which specializes in the production of medium- and high-density fiberboard and other types of wood-based panels.
