Base metals prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange were mixed during morning trading on Friday March 1, with concerns over slowing global economic growth offsetting the optimism surrounding US-China trade talks.

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange are up by an average of 0.4% this morning, Thursday July 20, with gains fairly tightly bunched between 0.2% for zinc and tin and 0.7% for lead. Three-month copper prices are up 0.3% at $5,983 per tonne – volume has been below average at 4,300 lots as of 06:09 BST.

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange are mostly higher with gains averaging 1.1% this morning, Friday October 20. The exception is tin where prices are off by 0.3%. Nickel prices once again lead the gains with a 2.5% increase to $12,065 per tonne, with lead prices up by 1.6% and copper prices up by 1.3% to $7,060 per tonne. Zinc and aluminium prices are up by 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively.

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange are stronger across the board this morning, Monday January 15, with the complex up by an average of 1.2%. Copper ($7,248 per tonne) and nickel ($12,905 per tonne) lead the advance with rises of 1.9%, while tin lags behind with a 0.1% gain to $20,300 per tonne.

With the exception of nickel and tin, base metals prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange were down during morning trading on Thursday August 1, coming under pressure from a surge in the dollar following the conclusion of the US Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on Wednesday.
