There is generally a firmer tone in the base metals traded on the London Metal Exchange this morning, Friday April 28, with three-month prices up an average of 0.3%, while tin is the only metal showing a loss.

After recent strong performances by the base metals traded on the London Metal Exchange, most prices started to consolidate at the beginning of the week and are down an average of 0.3% this morning, Tuesday February 26.

A correction is underway in the three-month base metals prices traded on the London Metal Exchange with prices off by an average of 0.5% on the morning of Thursday February 21, compared with Wednesday’s closing levels.

Major steel producer Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp (NSSMC) expects demand and profit margins for steel to remain high in Japan for the next three years, a senior official has told Metal Bulletin.

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange are up by an average of 0.5% this morning, Monday September 11, with prices ranged between up by 1.2% for zinc and down by 0.1% for tin – three-month copper prices are up by 0.4% at $6,710 per tonne.

The metals prices on the London Metal Exchange are mixed this morning, Tuesday February 20, with aluminium and tin prices firmer by 0.2% and 0.7% respectively, while the rest are lower by an average of 0.7%. Copper prices are down 0.6% at $7,094 per tonne.
