Launch of two US 400-series stainless steel prices

Fastmarkets has launched price assessments for MB-STS-0330 stainless steel 409 cold-rolled sheet, fob mill US, $ per cwt, and MB-STS-0331 stainless steel 430 cold-rolled sheet, fob mill US, $ per cwt.

With these two additional price assessments, Fastmarkets intends to supplement its current stainless steel offerings to further serve the white goods and automotive industries.

Ferritic or 400-series stainless steel products occupy a middle ground between the austenitic stainless grades and coated products such as hot-dipped galvanized and painted steel. With this launch, Fastmarkets intends to give appliance and automotive manufacturers a range of choices for crafting contracts and tracking relative price spreads.

The inaugural assessment will be published on Thursday April 10. The original consultation was launched on February 7 to gather market feedback.
