Fastmarkets has amended the name of the price assessment for nickel ore 1.8% basis 15-20% Fe water content: 30-35% Si:Mg ratio<2 lot size 50,000 tonnes, cif China.

Fastmarkets has amended the name of the price assessment for nickel ore 1.8% basis 15-20% Fe water content: 30-35% Si:Mg ratio<2 lot size 50,000 tonnes, cif China.

The name of the price has been shortened to nickel ore with 1.8% nickel content, cif China to enhance its readability and alignment with other Fastmarkets nickel ore prices.

The move follows a consultation period that ended on January 24.

The amendment should have taken place from January 31, but was delayed until February 14 due to a reporter error.

The specifications for the price are as follows (changes in italics):

Quality: 1.8% Ni, 15-20% Fe, Water content 30-35%, Si:Mg ratio <2
Quantity: 50,000 tonnes

The price is part of the Fastmarkets base metals package.
