Correction to Soybean CFR China (US Gulf) premiums, outright prices and rationale on July 17, 2025 [update]

Fastmarkets has corrected its AG-SYB-0005 Soybean CFR China (US Gulf) $/mt and AG-SYB-0006 Soybean CFR China (US Gulf) Premium c$/bu, which were published incorrectly on July 17. Fastmarkets also corrected the rationale for AG-SYB-0006 Soybean CFR China (US Gulf) Premium c$/bu, which was published incorrectly. The derived prices AG-SYB-0001 Soybean CFR China $/mt and AG-SYB-0002 Soybean CFR China Premium c$/bu have been corrected as well.

The rationale for AG-SYB-0006 Soybean CFR China (US Gulf) Premium c$/bu erroneously stated “The soybean CFR China (USG) basis assessment for September shipment was assessed 23 cents per bu lower at a premium of 193 cents per bu over the September CME soybean futures contract in line with the respective FOB assessment, prevailing freight indications and effective tariffs of 23%, following the methodology change, effective 17 July, 2025.”

This has been corrected to “The soybean CFR China (USG) basis assessment for September shipment was assessed 100 cents per bushel higher at a premium of 316 cents per bushel over the September CME soybean futures contract in line with the US Gulf FOB assessment, freight rates and effective Chinese tariffs of 23% on US soybean imports, following the methodology change effective from July 17, 2025.”
