PRICING NOTICE: Proposal to discontinue Antwerp, Vlissingen aluminium premiums

Fastmarkets proposes to discontinue its aluminium premium assessments for Antwerp duty-paid and unpaid and Vlissingen duty-paid and unpaid.

The proposal is based on market feedback that these premiums are no longer a reference price in the market, with the majority of the market now basing its business on an in-warehouse Rotterdam basis.

The in-warehouse premiums are currently published on a weekly basis on a Tuesday but are currently calculated out of the Fastmarkets Rotterdam duty-unpaid and duty-paid premiums rather than set as standalone assessments. The Antwerp and Vlissingen premiums are assessed at $2 per tonne below the Rotterdam premium on the top end of the range.

The consultation period for the discontinuation of these premiums will end one month from the date of this pricing notice – Thursday December 27 – with changes taking place, subject to market feedback, from Tuesday January 29.

To provide feedback on this proposal or if you would like to provide price information by becoming a data submitter to the Rotterdam aluminium premiums instead, please contact Alice Mason by email: pricing@fastmarkets.com.
