Base metals traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange were down across the board during Asian morning trading on Wednesday February 28, with a firmer dollar and disappointing Chinese macro-economic data denting sentiment for the complex.

Lead prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange outperformed during Asian morning trading on Tuesday May 22, tracking the strong performance of the London Metal Exchange’s three-month lead price on Monday. The other SHFE base metals, with the exception of copper and nickel, were weaker.

The base metals are for the most part weaker this morning, Wednesday April 12, with losses on the London Metal Exchange averaging 0.3%, led by a 0.6% fall in three-month lead prices to $2,241 per tonne and a 0.5% fall in copper prices to $5,741, while aluminium is unchanged and zinc is up 0.1%.

Copper prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange strengthened during Asian morning trading on Tuesday April 10, after a further cooling in trade tensions between the United States and China led to increased buying interest among investors.
