Jorge Barbosa
Price reporter
Jorge is part of the PPI Latin America team and is currently responsible for the tissue and
pulp markets
in Brazil and across the region, while also closely following trends in the nonwovens sector. He developed Fastmarkets’ first global price index for tissue jumbo rolls, launched in the Brazilian market.
With over five years of experience covering commodities, the economy, and financial markets, Jorge worked at prominent media outlets such as the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo and Broadcast, from Agência Estado, where he covered a wide range of industries including oil and gas, petrochemicals, metals and mining, cement, and pulp and paper.
He holds a degree in Journalism from
Universidade Federal Fluminense
and, in 2021, completed an extension course in Economics and Finance at Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
