A quiet but positive start to trading on the London Metal Exchange this morning, Thursday June 22, with base metals prices up across the board with average gains of 0.2%.

Base metals traded on the London Metal Exchange are on divergent paths this morning, Friday September 15, with losses in aluminium (-0.6%), nickel (-0.5%) and copper (-0.1%) at $6,496 per tonne, while zinc is up 0.3% and lead and tin are little changed.

Base metals traded on the London Metal Exchange are mainly weaker this morning, Wednesday February 28, with prices off by an average of 0.4%.

Copper prices continued to rally this morning, Wednesday July 26, reaching $6,400 per tonne, which was up by 2.3% from Tuesday’s close. The rest of the complex is split with nickel and zinc off around 1%, while the rest are little changed, although they have been choppy.

The fledgling rebounds in the base metals seen in the second half of August have stalled and in the case of nickel have been reversed with prices setting fresh lows this morning, Monday September 3.

Manganese ore prices continued to firm on Friday September 15 as sentiment was boosted by a gradual drawdown in stocks in China and anticipation of further strengthening in the steel sector.

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange are generally higher this morning, Friday January 12, with prices fairly uniformly up between 0.5% and 0.6% - apart from tin prices that are down 0.1% at $20,159 per tonne. Three-month copper prices are up by 0.5% at $7,167 per tonne and zinc prices have been as high as $3,405 per tonne, which is a fresh multi-year high.

Base metals are little changed on the London Metal Exchange this morning, Wednesday June 28, with prices split between plus and minus 0.3%. Copper, lead and tin prices are firmer, aluminium and zinc prices are weaker and nickel prices are unchanged.

India’s imported scrap markets have been supported by healthy demand for finished steel in the country this week, which prevented there being steeper losses in the scrap price, sources have told Metal Bulletin.

Base metals on the London Metal Exchange are slightly firmer this morning, Tuesday June 6, with prices up an average of 0.2%.
