Most base metals prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange were up during Asian morning trading on Friday January 18, with the complex benefiting from renewed optimism that US-China trade tensions may ease.

China’s domestic spot battery-grade lithium carbonate and hydroxide prices were unchanged week on week on Thursday January 17 due to slow market activity ahead of Chinese New Year, while technical and Industrial grade lithium carbonate prices moved down slightly on supplier destocking.
